Daniel Burns President & CEO
Daniel Burns is President and CEO of Aragail Underwriters, a specialty risk underwriter for professional and collegiate sports leagues, teams, conferences, athletes, business professionals, physicians, and entertainment stars. Having previously served as the CEO of Pro Financial Services (“PFS”) for over two decades, Burns has founded Aragail Underwriters to pick up where PFS left off.
Leadership & Innovation
He leads strategy, global partnerships, and product innovation, enabling Aragail Underwriters to design and oversee the most creative insurance products available for major U.S. sports leagues. Burns designed the wording, rating, and underwriting procedures for insurance programs in place at major sports leagues including the NFL, MLB, NBA, NHL, PGA Tour, WTA, and NASCAR, and played a key role in developing high-limit disability coverage for corporations, law firms, physicians, and entertainers.
Richard Dumelle Executive Vice President
Rich focuses on Arragail Underwriters white-collar, entertainment, and physician practices and oversees all group and individual product sales, including product design. Rich supports retail producers, agents, wealth and corporate benefits advisors, and the insured to deliver customized individual and group policies that most effectively provide the insurance needs of the client.
Experience That Matters
Before joining Arragail Underwriters, Rich accumulated 30 years of experience in executive leadership and sales positions with several large manufacturing and software providers, developing a unique ability to understand client needs and identify practical solutions to help increase clients’ odds of success, which translates directly into finding the optimal coverage for Arragail Underwriters clientele and agents/brokers.
After miraculously surviving his own nearly fatal car accident and taking many months to recover, Rich brings a personal view to the disability insurance world that helps high-net-worth individuals see the need and value for maintaining adequate disability insurance coverage.
Dennis Burns Senior Medical Underwriter
Dennis Burns is a dynamic executive leader with decades of experience in risk management, medical underwriting, regulatory compliance, and nonprofit governance. Throughout his career, he has demonstrated a consistent ability to drive organizational growth, strengthen governance frameworks, and lead with integrity and strategic vision.
Dennis previously served as Vice Chairman and Senior Medical Underwriter at Pro Financial Services, Inc., where he built a nationally recognized reputation in sports medical underwriting. He was the first American granted Full Sports Medical Underwriting Authority by Lloyd's of London—a significant professional distinction. During his tenure, he designed the High Limit Sports Medical Underwriting Application, authored High Limit Disability Sports Insurance policy wordings, and created the Independent Orthopedic Surgeons Report, which remains widely used across the industry. He worked closely with state insurance licensing departments to secure regulatory approval of specialized policy forms and led enterprise-wide risk management initiatives.
Dennis has extensive experience in executive leadership, strategic planning, financial oversight, regulatory monitoring, stakeholder management, and team development. Known for his integrity, ethical leadership, and strong interpersonal skills, he has successfully mentored teams, guided complex regulatory processes, and positioned organizations for sustainable growth.
